Overall, the biggest number of people travelling by public transportation or by car are in Denmark. However, the United Kingdom are the leader among other countries in terms of time spent on commute by any type of transport.
Just under 12000 kilometres are travelled per person by car in Denmark. In France situation is similar, 12000 kilometres per person. In countries such as Italy and the United Kingdom indexes are around 10000 kilometres by car. In Germany and Spain it is approximately 8000 kilometres by automobile. Whereas, average quantity of kilometres droven by car in EU are 10000. Kilometres travelled with a help of public transportation is 3000 in Denmark, and just over 1500 in Italy. However, in other countries numbers are around 1000 kilometres per person, with the EU average amount of roughly 1000 kilometres.
Commuting time is the similar in the United Kingdom and Germany, just under 50 minutes. In countries, such as Denmark, Spain and France indexes are roughly 35 minutes per day. Italy has the smallest number of just over 20 minutes per day. Average number throughout the EU are the same as in Spain.
