Denmark had the highest level of car travel, with individuals covering roughly 12,500 kilometres per year. France followed closely at around 12,000 kilometres. Italy and the United Kingdom showed slightly lower but still substantial distances, with car users travelling about 11,000 and 10,500 kilometres respectively.
By contrast, Germany and Spain had noticeably lower figures, at approximately 9,000 and 8,500 kilometres a year. Despite their relatively modest levels of travel, both countries remained within a similar range. The EU average stood at 10,000 kilometres, meaning that only Germany and Spain fell below this benchmark.
