The bar charts illustrate the comparison between the proportion of males and females who enjoyed leisure time between 1996 and 2006 and the percentages of distinct locations of both genders in the same period of time.
Overall, it is noticeable that pop center was the most popular leisure destination that men favoured while women preferred beach the most. Notably, the percentage of men’s pleasure in free time decreased yet still higher than women, conversely with that of women who witnessed a rise.
With regard to the leisure time enjoyment chart, men accounted for nearly 90% in 1996, which was more than 2 times as high as that of women with only 40%. Subsequently, this figure declined gradually to 80% in 2001 and to around 70% by 2006. In contrast, women’s percentage rose substantially to around slightly under 60% in 2001 prior to continuing to incline to over 60% in the next five years.
Turning to the remaining bar chart, in 2006, pop center attracted exactly 30% of men doubling that of women (15%). Regarding museums and KTV, men constituted a higher percentage than women with a figure of 20% to 18% and 15% to around 13% respectively. It is also remarkable that both genders going to the beaches were quite common with a quarter for men and 30% for women. Simultaneously, women demonstrated predominance in cinema with 25% to only 10% that of men.
