Each pie chart clearly shows that each age range has different preferences in where they get their news sources. However, a clear similarity for each pie chart is the percentage for their preference for TV, with all ranging from a low of 35% (young adults) to a high (42%) with teenagers being at the middle at 37%.
Furthermore, the two pie charts that show the closest resemblance is the old people pie chart and the young adults pie chart in terms orfusing other outlets for getting their news. Which entails that these two age groups still use other outlets such as radio, magazines, word from the streets and more.
While on the other hand, old people (6%) and teenagers (52%) have the biggest difference – in terms of using online news sites as their source of information. Suggesting that a big factor to why a certain age group uses one type of source, compared to the other is due to their personal familiarity. For teenagers are used to having their cell phones, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices from a very young age. Hence, them gravitating towards more media based news outlets. While old people are used to printed newspapers and other printed media for they are most comfortable with them. Since back… twenty to thirty years ago coming across the internet was a rare thing. So – many had to rely on other sources.
