The pie chart illustrates the number of teenagers, young adults, and old people who read online social and political news in Vietnam in 2022.
Overall, young adults represent the largest percentage of online news consumers, followed by old people and teenagers. According to the most significant portion, 45 percent of young adults go online to read the news. Next to that, accounting for a slightly smaller share of 38 percent of the elderly browse social and political news online. In contrast, only approximately one-sixth of teens use the Internet for news.
In summary, it is evident that both individuals aged 20 to 40 and seniors show relatively equal engagement in getting news from online platforms with large proportions. Young adults have the most interests in social news, likely because of the nature of their work. Due to the convenience of the digital platforms, older individuals easily rely on them to follow the news and adapt to modern technology. Meanwhile, compared to the other two age segments, teenagers tend to focus more on entertainment content and influencers rather than social news. This clearly shows the difference in internet usage habits among Vietnamese age groups in 2022.
