In the first bar chart, the population of obese women are 4 million in 2003, which is 1 million higher compared to men. It is expected that obesity among men will increase at least double in size and surpass women in 2010, becoming 6.7 and 6 million.
Obesity among children ranging from 2 to 15 is illustrated in the second graph showing boys are slightly more obese compared to girls, with 730 and 680 thousand in population. However, it is projected that girls will overtake and increase with a remarkable number of 200 thousand, while boys will rise less than 100 thousand.
In the last graph, the impact of parents’ obesity on children has been studied. The results revealed that if both parents are obese, they can raise the chance of child obesity to 25%, while one parent can reduce it to almost half. It should be noted that there is a 5% chance that children become obese with neither parent obese.
In conclusion, obesity among women and girls is calculated to rise in future, although the men and boys had more obesity. Furthermore, both parents with obesity can be 5 times more obese.
