In the initial year(2000), handheld games and console games were sold for approximately 11 and 6 billion dollars respectively. In the subsequent year, the former experienced a consistent rise to 18 billion dollars until 2008. Meanwhile, the later saw an opposite trend to around 3 billion dollars.
On the other hand, the figure for online games went up from roughly 2 to 4 billion dollars until 2004, while mobile phone games were sold for about 4 billion dollars. In the next two years, the online games were used widely and grew to 8 billion dollars and the figure for mobile phone games experienced a similar trend.
