The line graph shows the changes in the number of European people in different age groups who went to the gym at least once a month or more from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that all the attendance among all age groups showed an upward trend. At the beginning of the period the 25-34 aged people recorded the highest figure. However, the young individuals overtook them by the end.
As for the percentage of people aged 25-34, stood at approximately 7 percent in 1990 and rose to 20 percent in 1996. After that, it increased slightly to about 30 percent in 1998 before growing considerably to 50 percent in 2010. As regards the 18-24 aged young people, it was around 6 percent in 1990 and increased to 20 percent in 1997. Despite rising dramatically to just under 60 percent in 2006, the figure then decreased slightly to about 50 percent in 2008 and grew again to 58 percent by the end.
Regarding individuals between 35 and 44 years old, started at approximately 4 percent at the beginning of the period and went up gradually to around 23 percent in 2006. Following this, there was an significant increase to 40 percent in 2010. As for the elderly group, it was 3 percent in 1990 and increased gradually to 10 percent in 2002. Having remained stable at 10 percent until 2006, the attendance then rose to just over 20 percent by 2010.
