First, the bar graph shows that there is gradual increase in both male and female participants. Although there was a significant difference in numbers: nearly 3,000 participants, between male and female participations in 1924, the gap between the male and female participants has gradually decreased in 2012.
The line graph represents the total numbers of participants from 1924 to 2012. The line started low with approximately 3,000 participants in total in 1924. However, there is a huge number of participants with over 10,000 participants in 2014. There is a massive participants gap between 1924 and 2014 Olympics.
Overall, there is a noticeable improvement in both the bar graph and the line graph. The bar graph contains comparison between numbers of male and female participants while the line graph provides the total numbers of participants.
