The bar chart and the table provide information about the number of hospital beds per thousand people and government health spending, as well as average life expectancy, in several countries. Overall, it is clear that Japan has the highest number of hospital beds per thousand and the longest life expectancy, while the US spends the most on healthcare.
Japan has almost twice of the amount of hospital beds of Germany. While Japan has 14.0 hospital beds per thousand, Germany has 8.0. Additionally, Australia has 4.0 hospital beds per 1,000, which is equal to half number of beds in Germany. Other countries, such as Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States have 3.7, 4.3, 3.5, almost 4 and 3.2 numbers of beds per thousand individuals, respectively.
It is important to note that while Japan’s government spends not that much on the health expenses per person with 2,581 US dollars, their average life expectancy is 83. In contrast, the US spends the most money on the healthcare with 6,719 US dollars, their average life expectancy is just 78. Furthermore, the Netherlands representa the middle ground. They spend 3,481 US dollars on healthcare per person with the average life expectancy of 80.
