The pie chart illustrates the proportions of five different categories of library users, while the table details user satisfaction levels regarding five specific library services.
Overall, full-time students account for the vast majority of library users, with full-time undergraduates comprising the largest single demographic. Regarding service quality, overall satisfaction is exceptionally high across all categories, with staff helpfulness and opening hours receiving zero negative feedback.
Looking first at the distribution of library patrons, full-time undergraduates represent 44% of total users, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%. Part-time postgraduates make up 16%, whereas distance learning students across all courses and academic staff constitute the smallest shares, at 8% and 7% respectively.
Turning to user feedback, staff helpfulness scored highest, with 95% of respondents feeling “very satisfied” and the remaining 5% “fairly satisfied.” Similarly, opening hours received overwhelmingly positive feedback, as 65% reported being very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. Although book availability, journal availability, and Wi-Fi reliability also saw high approval – with “very satisfied” figures between 45% and 50% – they generated higher levels of dissatisfaction. Dissatisfaction was highest for journal availability at 20%, closely followed by Wi-Fi reliability at 19% and book availability at 10%.
