Overall, there is an increasing amount of overweight adults in all the countries. United states has the highest number of people who suffer from obesity in each year. However, the least percentage of people with obesity is in Japan.
From 1980 to 2000, there was a 30% increase of grown up with obesity in the United States. In contrary, the percentage in Japan only went up from around 1% to 3%.
In 1980, Finland and Australia had almost the same amount of obese adults. Nevertheless, this situation changed in the following 20 years. There was a considerable rise from the figure in Australia to 11% in 1990. 10 years later, this increase grew even greater reaching up to 21% which is almost double the amount compare to Finland.
