Overall, in 1968 the biggest amount was paid for food whereas, the smallest was for fuel and power. Meanwhile, in 2018, the highest cost was given to leisure, and the lowest was used for fuel and power along with personal goods.
Through the chart, we can summarise that a large amount was paid on food (35%) in 1968, whereas, it got reduced to 17% in 2018. Following that, housing costs were 10% in 1968 and in 2018 they hiked to 18%. Moreover, the amount of fuel and power were least of all in both the year 1968 and 2018, 7% and 4% respectively. When looking at clothing and footwear the income spent in 1968 was 10% and in 2018 it got half to 5%.
However, the price for household goods remained the same in both years that is 8%. Additionally, the levy of personal goods where high in 1968 (8%) and reduced to 4% in 2018. On top of that, transport was at 8% in 1968 and increased up to 14% in 2018. Besides that, Leisure was at 8% in 1968 and it boosted more than double to 23% in 2018.
