There was a clear fall in spending on clothing and footwear, from 10% to 5%. Fuel and power decreased slightly, from about 6% to 4%. Personal goods also fell from around 7% to 4%. Spending on household goods stayed almost the same at about 7%. Finally, leisure increased greatly, from around 9% in 1968 to 22% in 2018.
