The following chart gives us information about first-time mothers of different ages in 1966, 1986, and the initial 6 years of the 21st century in Australia.
Overall, over the period, the 20-24-year-old women started decreasing in their birth of the first child. And the 25-29-year-olds didn’t see any big changes and stayed steady. But the 35-39-year-old women have seen an increase in their firstborn process.
In 1966, the average woman gave birth for the first time at the age of 30 to 34, and 35-39-year-olds were around 10%. But during these periods, both these women, who have been first-time mothers, have seen a growth of up to nearly 30% and were in a very normal stage.
As for the decline in terms of first child, both 19 and under and 20-24 were higher degrees. But in the upcoming years, the rate of the women who are having their first child started to drop off from 60% and 35% to decrease to a lower degree. In the end, the progress was quite low.
