The given chart shows the age of women when they gave birth to their first child in Australia in 1966, 1986 and 2006.

Briefly, there were 3 categories of women in Australia: under 19 and 19-24 years old, young; 25-34 years old, middle twenties and early thirties; 34-39 and over 40 years old. As it can be seen, the young group of women had a downward trend of giving birth to their first offspring through the timeframe. On the other hand, middle aged and over 40 years old women had a positive tendency to have their first baby, in comparison with their starting and final points.

The women, who were in their early twenties demonstrated the highest percentage of bearing their firstborn in the beginning, however, there was a rapid decrease over the past 40 years. In the end, women were less interested in having a newborn in their youth.

In contrast, women who were in their mid twenties and thirties were more concerned about bearing a baby through the given period. As a result, in 1986 they reached the highest point, 50%, and held the supremacy until the end of the period. The same upward trend had the group of women in their late thirties and passed over 40, as middle aged ones.

Overall, there was a tendency of women giving birth to firstborns after passing their early twenties in Australia.
