For students traveling to schools below 1 mile, walking is preferred by close to 90% of them. It is also chosen by about 50% of students traveling between 1 to 2 miles. On the other hand, bicycling is the most common among students traveling between 1 to 2 miles, with close to 80% of bicyclists, followed by students below the 1-mile group with 60%. It is worth noting that bicycling is more common than car rides for students who travel between 2 to 5 miles as the proportions are about 50% and 30% respectively. No student over 5 miles distance prefers walking or bicycling to school.
Bus on the other hand is the most common mode of transport for students traveling above 5 miles, which is close to 70%. It is also the most common mode for students in the 2 to 5 miles range, being just about 50%, which is very close but slightly higher tha
