The bar chart compares the amount of income and expenditures by Americans in 2013. The vertical axis shows the amount of spending in dollars while the horizontal axis shows the age range.
Overall it can be seen that, the Americans obtained the highest income and spent the most money between the ages of 35 – 54 years old which was the productive lives meanwhile under 25 years old and over 75 years old had the lowest income and expenditures. On the other hand, there were lots of gaps between income and expenditure in around 35 – 54 years old.
According to the bar chart, Americans aged 35 – 54 years old had the highest income nearly 80.000 dollars and followed by aged 25 -34 years old and aged 65 – 74 years old with almost 60.000 dollars and slightly over 50.000 dollars in respectively. In contrast, there were 2 aged ranges that had the lowest amount of income approximately 30.000 dollars in the aged range under 25 years old and over 75 years old.
On the other hand, the expenditures had a similar trend with the income which was the most spending in the ages 35 – 54 years old with almost 60.000 dollars and followed by aged 24-34 years old and 65-74 years old with almost 50.000 dollars. And the remaining range aged had a different trend with aged range previously in which the income was higher than spending. In aged over 75 years the income and expenditures had the same amount while in aged under 25 years old, the expenditures (30.000 dollars) were more than income.
