Overall, charitable donations declined among younger people but increased slightly among the older population.
In 1990, around 17% of those aged 18-25 made charitable donations, compared to only about 7% in 2010. Similarly, the proportion for the 26-35 group dropped from roughly 30% to 25%.
By contrast, older age groups showed a different trend. The percentage of donors aged 36-50 fell moderately from 42% to around 35%, while the 51-65 group saw a rise from about 35% to nearly 39%. The oldest group, those aged 65 and above, remained almost unchanged, at around one-third in both years.
Overall, the data suggest that charitable giving became less common among younger adults but remained relatively stable among older ones
