Housing consumes about 25% of the family budget in the US and the UK and approximately 20% in Australia. Food is the second major expence in the UK being at 20% while it acounts at 15% for the US and Australia. In the US and Australia the second main expence is transportation at roughly 15% in the US and 20% in Australia, in the UK it acounts at 15%.
