As can be seen from the graph, the adult fiction topic had the highest increase. Overall, most categories witnessed a downward tendency except for adult and children’s fiction content.
In 1972, 20% was seen in both the sales of adult and children’s fiction books. Until 1992, there was a slight growth in both these types of content, with the perspective figures being 25% and 22%. In the final year, the figure for sales of adult fiction reached the highest at 45% while children’s fiction sold at 25%.
The percentage of sales of other genres hit the highest point at 25%, while 20% of biography books were sold, and 15% of travel book sales were sold. There was a gradual decrease in both others and biography content before ending the lowest figures at 12% and 25% respectively. The proportion of sales of the travel genre increased slightly in 1992 and continually declined to 10% later.
