The first glance reveals that there was an upward trend in the figures for some factors including suitable degree courses, closing to parental home and quality of teaching, while the opposite was true for certain categories, such as quality of resources and having good sports and social activities. In addition, most students consider choosing universities related to having suitable degree courses.
Regarding two elements that decreased, quality of resources accounted for nearly ⅕ in students’ decision in the first year ; however, the figure dropped by 5% in 2005. Meanwhile, starting nearly at the same fỉgure , having good sports and social activities’ experienced a sharp decline, falling to a quarter of its original proportion in the last surveyed year.
In contrast , the amount of students chosen universities according to suitable degree courses was ⅓ in 1995 , making it the determinant of teenagers’choices, followed by a slight growth, remaining the top factors. Moreover, starting at the least common aspect by 10%, closing to the parental home experienced two times greater, ranking the second significant element in 2005. Students’ choices based on quality of teaching was recorded to account 15% in the beginning, which experienced a minor uptick to 18% in the last year.
