The bar chart gives information about the growing urban population in three different continents and whole world in 1950, 2000, and 2030. Overall, as time passes, more and more people tend to live in cities rather than rural areas, however this tendency was far noticeable over the first 50-year period.
In Africa, the year of 1950, had the lowest number, increasing of 12, however, by 2000, this figure had increased considerably to 39%. It is projected that by 2030, African population growth in cities will reach just more than 50%.
In Asia, as in Africa, the numbers exhibited a similar trend in both 1950 and 2000, while it is predicted that 57% of Asian people will live in cities by 2030, which this figure is slightly higher than African population.
Latin America is the most densely urban populated region among others. There was an increase of 41% regarding urban population in 1940, which this number is relatively higher than other regions, while By 2000, this increase had gone up to 70%. The highest number of whole reigion is likely to happen by 2030, incrasing of 80%.
Urban population growth by whole world, experinced upward trend over the whole period. The trend saw an increase of 30 % in 1950, and then it went up to 48% in 2000. Finally, it will be increased to 60% by 2030.
