This chart or this picture basically illustrates the percentage employement rates of woman and men in 1970s and in 2000s in four countries. The countries which they are considering are Belgium, USA, Japan, and Indonesia.
Basically in 1970 the Belgium percentage employement rate of women were about 60% and for men it was about 78%. However, in 2000s,m the percentage of employed people was reduced and become almost 8% for women and 51% for men. Also in 1970, USA percentage of employed women were about 79% and men were 86% but in 2000 it was reduced and become 40% for women and 79% for men.
Moving towards next, in 1970, Japan percentage of employed women were about 55% and men were 78% but in 2000 it was reduced and become 49% for women and 50% for men. In 1970, Indonesia percentage of employed women were about 65% and men were 85% but in 2000 it was reduced and become 50% for women and 71% for men.
So this basically explains that in 1970s the employed people percentage was greater than in 2000s.
