The bar chart depicts data about the housing preference for people in three UK cities who were participated in a survey in 2009 and shows that apartments were the most popular types of housing in Liverpool, whereas the people in London and Manchester preferred to live in semi-detached houses.
When looking at Liverpool, the largest proportion of people asking in the survey preferred to live in apartments. The figure stood at 58% which was far higher than for other types of housing. The second most popular type of housing was semi-detached houses. At around 18% which was around 4% higher than the percentage of people who liked to live in detached houses. The least popular category of housing in this city was terrached houses which was chosen by less than 10% of the people.
It is clearly seen that semi-detached houses was the most popular type of housing for people participating in the survey both in London and in Manchester. The figures for both cities were around 38%, whereas the proportion of people in Manchester who liked to live in detached houses was higher than in London. The figure for the former was about 36% and 25% for the latter. In contrast, living in apartments was the second most popular choice for the people in London at about 29%, which was 10% higher than in Manchester.
Terraced houses were also the least popular category of housing for both cities as the figures were 11% for Manchester and 19% for London.
