Overall, there were several countries people come from, Asia was the largest source of tourist to Australia in both years. People started to travel a lot, especailly for holidays and business, the number of tourist from Asia, New Zealand and Europe increased noticeably, with the except of North America and China in 2012.
Focusing on the higher figures first, there were 26% of visitors, who were from Asia, visited Australia in 2008, which after 4 years increased to 2 percentage points. Those, who were from New Zealand constituted 20% out of all the visitors of the countries. This number later experienced a slight increase, making it 21% in 2012. The next position was occupied by European travelars who made up 15% in 2008 and this followed by noticeable rise to 22% respectively. The proportion of remaining visitors who were from North America, China and others witnessed a considerable decrease – 13% and 11% with the except of last one – 5% reapectively.
In contrast, as people priorities changed from traveling Australia for employment, eduactional and other purposes, as they started to visit for holidays and business. Additionally, visiting for holidays and business made up 60% and 18%, making it the most popular, but the opposite was true for education, employment and others – 9%, 5% and 2%
