In 2008, the percentage of tourists coming from Europe was double the figure for those from other countries, which was 5%. Besides, there was a similarity between the number of New Zealand visitors and North America when the figures were both one-fifth. Furthermore, while the percentage of Asian people arriving in Australia was slightly more than a quarter, the figure for China was significantly lower. In 2012, the proportion of tourists to Europe and North America remarkably declined by 7%. Moreover, while there was a modest decrease in the number of visitors from China by 3%, the opposite was true for those coming from Asia and New Zealand.
Regarding the table, the factors education, employment and others made the visitors arriving to Australia was a small fraction. While the reason they came there for business was under a quarter, the figure for holiday was significantly higher, at 60%.
