The two pie charts illustrate the percentage of five different types of energy production in France – gas, coal, petrol, nuclear, and other – in the years 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal and gas had the highest percentages of energy in both years, while nuclear and other sources made up/accounted for the smallest shares. In contrast, petrol showed a noticeable decrease over time.
To begin with, coal and gas were the most used energy sources in 1995, each contributing around 29%. followed by petrol at 29.27%, while nuclear and other sources made up much smaller portions, at 6.40% and 4.90% respectively.
By 2005, coal and gas remained the main energy sources, each accounting for around 30%. In contrast, petrol experienced a noticeable decline, dropping from 29.27% to 19.55%. Meanwhile, nuclear energy almost/nearly doubled climbing/rising to 10.10%, and other sources also increased significantly, reaching 9.10%.
