Focusing on Italy and Portugal, in 1990, it can be seen that both countries witnessed highest figures, while they showed downward trend from 1990 to 2000. By contrast, Italy rose steadily, whereas Portugal declined gradually between 2000 and 2005.
In terms of UK, which accounted for approximately a tenth in 1990, while figures increased sligthly at just under in 2000. In comparison, expenses dropped by half after 5 year, while figures saw slight increase over 5 year period.
Regarding to USA, figures fluctuated over time. In 1990, spending accounted for slightly less than , while they decreased slightly at marginally more than a tenth in 1995. Moreover, it can be seen that same pattern occurs between 2000 and 2005, at nearly 14% in 2000 to 12% in 2005.
