The chart illustrates the percentage of different types of fuel consumption and then as the consequences, the resulting carbon dioxide emissions in America in 2010.
Overall, petroleum and natural gas became the most consumed types of fuel. However in terms of emissions only petroleum demonstrated a significant increase , while natural gas and coal fuel underwent a substantial decline. In addition, emission from non fossil was so negligible that it was not included in the emissions chart.
In 2010, petroleum accounted for 37% of consumption and increased to 42% of resulting emissions. Coal also indicated a marked growth, starting at 21% of consumption and climbing to 35% in emissions. Interestingly, natural gas had a higher percentage of consumption than coal’s initial share. Although natural gas was still included in the emissions chart, non fossil fuels accounted for only 17% of consumption and then there was no emission data for this type of fuel
