The bar chart provides information about how frequently people in the USA ate at fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.
Overall, it can be seen that most Americans ate at fast food outlets either once a week or once or twice a month. The proportion of people who consumed fast food on a daily basis was relatively small, while those who never ate at fast food restaurants accounted for the lowest percentage.
In 2003, the proportions of individuals who ate at fast food restaurants once a week and once or twice a month were approximately 31% and 30%, respectively. The figure for the once-a-week group rose slightly in 2006 before falling to around 27% by 2013. In contrast, the proportion of people who ate once or twice a month declined to about 25% in 2006, but then increased gradually to roughly 30% by 2013.
On the other hand, the numbers of people who ate fast food every day or never did so remained the smallest groups throughout the period, each representing less than 5%. Meanwhile, the proportion of those eating several times a week stood at around 17% in 2003, peaked in 2006, and then returned to about 16% by 2013. Similarly, those who ate just a few times a year rose slightly and leveled off at about 15% between 2006 and 2013.
