The bar chart gives the number of male and female students who chose six different major subjects namely Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, and Mathematics at a US university in 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that both males and females are attracted to Finance, while Engineering is not chosen a lot by students.
It is clear that there was a huge difference between the numbers for each major. The number of males stood at 200, which was significantly higher than that of females, at roughly 50. While the number of males and females were the same, at around 225 in Finance, there was an opposite trend in Engineering, at only about 50 students.
On the other hand, the number of males was twice that of females, at 150 compared to 75. There still a major in which the number of females was larger than that of males that was Marketing and Accounting.
