The bar chart illustrates participation in five different sports in Australian children school hours in 2010. Overall, football was by far the highest figure on the chart among boys, while reverse was true for netball which was popular among girls. It is also clear that the proportion of children participating in swimming remained more even among other sports.
Focusing on higher figures first playing football was by far highest figure among boys with whooping 20%, while the reverse was true for percentage of girls playing football which is 4%. The percentage of girls engaged in netball was substantially higher with 18%, making it the most popular sport among females, as opposed to boys with the lowest scale of participation with 2%.
In contrast, the percentage of children involved in swimming was more even with 14% and 16%. Moreover, percentage of girls swimming was slightly higher than boys by 2%. The similar patterns was observed in percentage of schoolers playing basketball differing by 1%. As for “no sports” girls were more tend to not attending in any of sports compered to boys by 2%.
