The bar chart compares the preferred seasons – spring, summer, autumn and winter – among people in Portugal across three different age groups.The scale is measured in percentage.
Overall, the youngest groups showed a clear preference for summer, whereas the oldest groups is least attracted to winter. The noticeable feature is that children displayed almost identical levels of interest in spring and summer.
To begin with, adolescents under the age of 15 favour summer the most, at approximately 43%. Their interest in spring stands at exactly 30%, making it the second most preferred season. Additionally, the most interesting feature is that the preferences for autumn and winter are almost the same, at close to 14%. Moving towards teenagers, level of favourability in spring and summer is recorded at about 32% and 36%, respectively, with the former remaining lower than the latter. Apart from that, teenagers show moderate interest in autumn, at approximately 19%. Winter represents the least popular season among this age group, accounting for approximately 13% of preferences.
Furthermore, senior citizens demonstrate a stronger inclination towards summer, at nearly 36%. At the same time, older generations are least attracted to winter. Moreover, aged individuals are found to prefer spring, which is almost 5% higher than the proportion recorded for autumn, at around 32%.
