The line chart compares the sale figures of magazines in three distinct categories in a particular area over five weeks.
Overall, all magazine categories became more popular amongst buyers. Particularly, sports magazines dominated the sales by far, while fashion magazines were considerably less desired.
In the first three weeks, both sports and music magazines had steady increases in purchases. Sports was in the lead with about 75 million dollars in sales, which later surged to around 110 million in week three. Music was a distant second, from roughly 45 to 60 million dollars. In stark contrast, fashion magazines saw a noticeable reduction in sales figures, from a little under 40 to just 20 million dollars.
From week 4 to week 5, music and fashion magazines both witnessed consistent rises in their corresponding sales, with their respective figures at 80 and 60 million dollars. In addition, sports magazines saw a slight decline of 10 million dollars in revenue in the fourth week. Nevertheless, this category of magazine would rebound strongly to a peak of 120 million dollars in the last week.
