The bar chart depicts the age when males and females become impaired in the USA. Overall, it is clear that both genders stuggle with hearing loss in their adulthoods. By contrast, those aged 5 and under are less likely to face this problem, regardless of their genders.
Looking at age groups in more detail, men aged 20-39 and 40-59 accounted for more than 30%, while their counterparts made up 20% and 32%. However, in 5 and under age group, both males and females showed relatively smaller percentages, at 2% (males) and 3% (females) respectively.
Turning to the remaining age categories, women dominated over their counterparts in each age group. For those aged 6-19, both genders stood at a slightly more than 10%. However, the gap between males and females extended more in 60-69 and 70+ age group. Those aged 60 to 69 at 13% (men) and 18% (women), whereas those aged 70 and above at 8% and 16% respectively.
