The chart illustrates when males and females start losing their hearing abilities across the USA.
Overall, the figures of both women and men witness similar patterns: the percentage initially increases, stops increasing after middle ages, and lowers as they become older. Notably, both genders mostly experience the illness at the ages between 40 and 59, while the reverse pattern is true for the ages five and under.
The percenatage of male children aged five and under stood at just above 0% while that of female of the same age was about 3%. Similalry, males account for lower percent than females when they are 6-19 years old , with respective figures of approximetely 12% and 14%.
By contrast, males figure skyrockets to around 33% when they become adults(20-39), with that of females experiencing an almost doubling, reaching 20%. The same pattern is recorded at the age 40-59, when males figure was higher than that of women, almost 35% and 32%, respectively.
However, at the when people usually retire(60-69) males and females percentage plummets to about 14% and 17%, respectively, and this phenomenon continues when they are at least 70 years old, 16% for women and just above 5% for men.
