The bar graph compares the proportion of part-time workers in four different countries, namely England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales in the UK in the years 1980 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of part-time workers experienced growth in England, Scotland as well as Wales, although the reverse was true for Northern Ireland.
Looking at the details, Wales had the largest share in both years, starting at 30% in 1980 and reaching almost 35% in 2010. The second largest proportion was occupied by England. This country saw steady growth from 25% to approximately 30% between 1980 and 2010. Additionally, Scotland also had significant growth. It stood at 10% in 1980 and then this figure almost doubled in 2010 reaching 20%.
In contrast, the percentages of part-time employees in Northern Ireland experienced a noticeable decline over the years, starting at 15% in 1980 and dropping to around 13% by 2010.
