Overall, there was an increase in the number of money sending to help developing countries from all countries, except for Japan and Sweden. In addition, the USA was the biggest supporter throughout the period examined.
In 2008, the amount of aid sending from the United States was around 22 billion dollars, doubling that of Germany and Japan, followed by the figures for the UK, which was at 9 billion. Sweden and Netherlands providing the least aid among all the countries, both standing at about 6 billion.
One year later, approximately 18 billion dollars was aided by the US, 4 billion less than last year, but still double the money supported by Japan and Netherlands. This year, the United Kingdom donated about 3 billion more than last year and 2 billion more than Germany. Sweden was still the country sending the least aid, about 8 billion.
In the last year of the mentioned course, there was a considerably increase by 7 billion dollars in the amount of aid provided by the USA, twice higher than that of the UK and Germany. The figures for Japan, Netherlands and Sweden were lower, at 11 billion, 8 billion, and 5 billion respectively.
