The bar chart illustrates how much aid was sent from six wealthy nations to less financially fortunate nations between 2008 and 2010.
Overall, there was an increase in the amount of money sent to help developing countries from all countries except Japan and Sweden. In addition, the USA was the biggest supporter throughout the period examined.
In 2008, the amount of aid sent from the United States was around 22 billion dollars, double that of Germany and Japan, followed by the figures for the UK, which were at 9 billion. Sweden and the Netherlands provided the least aid among all the countries, both standing at about 6 billion.
One year later, approximately 18 billion dollars was sent in aid by the US, 4 billion less, but was still double the amount supported by Japan and the Netherlands. This year, the United Kingdom donated about 3 billion more than the previous year and 2 billion more than Germany. Sweden was still the country sending the least aid, about 8 billion.
In the last year of the mentioned timeframe, there was a considerable increase of 7 billion dollars in the amount of aid provided by the USA, twice that of the UK and Germany. The figures for Japan, the Netherlands, and Sweden were lower, at 11 billion, 8 billion, and 5 billion respectively.
