The line graph highlight and compare the average prices (in euro) that users of four different mobile brands (Domo, Lex, Sim TX and Alpha) have to pay every month. The data was examined in a particular European country, from January to September of 2002.
Overall, the majority of cell phone service companies had their prices increased, with the exception of Alpha. Sim TX saw the most substantial rise in their mobile cost, making it the most expensive brand by September.
In detail, it is clear that Domo users had to pay the most amount of money for their monthly contracts. Having emerged as the highest price in January with €15 per month, Domo’s price gradually rose, reaching a two-month plateau in May at €20. After seeing a significant rise by €5, the price began to fall constantly after July. Similarly, Lex underwent an upward trend in their price, despite having seen fluctuations in the first 6 months of 2002. After experiencing a marginal decline in June and recorded a price of €12 monthly, the price gradually increased, making it the third expensive brand in September, with €18 a month.
In stark contrast, Alpha saw an overall downward trend in the first 9 months of the examined year. Although having seen a significant rise from €10 in January to €14 in June, the figure plumetted from them, touching its lowest point in September at €8 a month. On the other hand, despite having been the cheapest mobile brand in January, the price of Sim TX saw an exponential leap in June, after slight fluctuations in the previous months. After 4 months, the cost of this brand increased by 5 times, eventually reaching its peak at €25 per month and topped the list in September.
