The bar chart illustrates the average of adolescents spent time on the screen and the percentage who report high stress in an area between 2016 and 2025. Overall, it can be seen that the trend of youngsters spending their time on screen had an upward trend, and the level of stress went along with average screen time.
To begin with the lowest average time for teenagers spent daily was in 2016 just about 3 hours, while the level of stress stood at 20%. In the next two years, the figures for young people and the high level of stress both rose moderately to around 3.5 hours for the former and 25% for the latter. In addition, average screen time increases rapidly, reaching almost 5 hours in 2020, followed by just over 30% of high stress in teenagers.
The level of stress among youngsters slightly dropped in 2022 just above 30%, before climbing roughly to 35% in the next three years. At the same time, the figure for screen time went down to around 4.2 hours in 2022, after that this figure slightly rose to around 5 hours in 2025.
