Given is a bar chart illustrating how much time was spent relaxing and doing exercises by the youngest and oldest groups of people in the U.S in the year 2015
From a generic point of view, the elderly tend to spend their time on light activities, whereas the younger age groups seem to be more energetic with a lot of time for intense activities.
Looking closely, the most striking feature concerns watching TV with average 4.5 hours per day for the elderly and less than 2 hours for the younger. With regard to the data on reading activities, there is a low index for young people with a fifth of an hour, which was compared with the statistic for old people of one hour per day. With respect to relaxing and thinking, the number of hours spent was less than two activities before, making up more than 30 minutes for elderly and about 10 minutes for young people.
Regarding communicating and socializing, the trend was opposite compared to three activities before with more time spent by the younger group. The same trend occurred in playing games and doing sports, with younger people spending much more time than older people more than half an hour for the former and a third of an hour for the latter.
