The data give information about an average time spent per day by the youngest and oldest population in the United State, in 2015, for leisure and sports activities. The activities includes watching TV, reading, relaxing, socializing, playing games/computer for leisure, and sports.
In general, the trends for each of activity determined by the amount of effort needed to do the activity. The oldest population more likely spends a lot of their time for a calmer hustle such as watching TV, reading, and relaxing. While the youngest population spends most of their time with activity that requires more movement such as socializing, playing games/computer, and sports. The elder people spends 4,5 hours per day for watching TV, 1 hour per day for reading, and more than 30 minutes per day for relaxing. While the teenagers only spends 2,5 hours per day for watching TV, around 10 minutes for reading, and about 5 minutes for relaxing. For the heavy activity, the oldest population only spends 10 minutes for sports and only about 30 minutes for playing games/computer. On the other hand, the youngest population spends more than 30 minutes for sports and more than an hour to play games/computer. Both population likely to spends not more than an hour for socializing.
Therefore, the US oldest population shows a tendency to spends their leisure time for activities that is not required much energy. While the youngest population prefer more tiring activities in their leisure time.
