The chart below illustrates the average number of journeys taken using six different types of transport in a European city in two different years.
Overall, we can observe that in 1985, the average number of journeys taken using the bus was the highest among the six modes of transport and the lowest was the train transport. Besides, in 2015, bus transport still held the top spot but were equal to the number of on foot and the lowest was still train transport.
In 1985, looking at the details, we can clearly observe that the bus transport was responsible for the highest which took up to 6000. Next, we can see that the second most used transport was cars, which was approximately 3000. Then, foot transport was the third most widely used, reaching over 2000. The rank fourth in that year was the subway transport which had the number of people using it reaching about more than 1500. The remaining two transports were train and bicycle, and had the lowest number compared to the other four which were about 1000.
Finally, in 2015, we can observe that the number of people taking the bus had dropped significantly but still led with 4000 equal to foot transport. Next, the second rank were cars with over 3500. Then, the two modes of transport with the same data were subway and bicycle which were reaching 2000 and the last one was train transport still keeping the same data like the year 1985 that reached about 1000.
