Overall, it is clear that buses were the most commonly used transportation vehicles in 1985, while walking and buses were equally popular in 2015. In addition to this comparison, the average number of journeys taken by subway, car, bicycle, and on foot increased over the period, whereas number of bus preferance decreased. The number of train journeys remained stable.
In 1985, 60.000 journeys taken by buses, which was the highest figure among all types of transport. However, the number significantly decreased to 40.000 in 2015. In contrast, walking reached approximately 22.000 journeys to 40.000.
On the other hand, subway usage climbed from about 15.000 to 20.000 journeys. Similarly, the number of car journeys increased around 32.000 to 37.000. The daily number of bicycle use increased significantly, from roughly 8.000 to 20.000. In contrast, the figure for train journeys remained stable at around 6.000 in both years.
