In the chart, one can observe a growing pattern in terms of 2 or more cars, in 1961 no one had above 1 car but by 2001 around 30% household had atleast 2 cars. This is because of the development in automobile and raising living standard of Britian.
In 1961 most people had no car or one car(65% approximately and around 35% respectively) but by 2001 the percentage of no car had fallen to less than 30%. Whilst we can observe a growth in number of one car from 1961 to 2001(around 35% and more than 40% respectively) indicating the growth in livelihood. By 2001 it was common to see atleast a car per household showing quality of life
Overall, higher number of people have 1 or more cars by 2001 this is because of the developing prosperity of living but still a marginally percentage of people had no car.
