The line graph illustrates the changes in three different categories of crime in a city over the period from 2003 to 2012. The Y-axis represents the number of crimes, while the X-axis shows the years.
Overall, the number of robberies and car thefts remained relatively stable, with some minor fluctuations throughout the 9-year period. In contrast, burglary crimes showed a significant decline from 2004 to 2008, before stabilizing between 2009 and 2012.
Burglaries exhibited a clear downward trend from 2004, starting at just over 3,500 incidents, to 2008, when the figure dropped to just over 1,000. This number then slightly increased by 500, reaching around 1,500 in 2009. From 2009 onwards, burglary incidents remained stable, fluctuating slightly between 1,500 and just below 1,400.
On the other hand, the number of robberies stayed within a consistent range of slightly more than 500 to just under 1,000 throughout the entire period. Car thefts remained relatively steady from 2003 to 2008, fluctuating between approximately 2,000 and just below 2,500. However, from 2008 onward, the number of car thefts steadily increased, reaching around 2,550 by 2010, and continuing to rise by more than 300 incidents, reaching over 2,800 in 2012.
