The line graph gives information on three different types of crime statistics—burglary, car theft and robbery—in the center of New Port city over the period 9 years starting from 2003. It is clear that the figures for car theft and robbery experienced a slight rise, while the number of burglary crimes declined dramatically over the period. Overall, robbery remained the least common crime.
Looking at the crime statistics in detail, in 2003, the number of burglary was the highest (around 3400), compared to car theft and robbery, which stood at about 2800 and 500, respectively. The following year, all figures saw an upward trend, with burglary increasing sharply to around 3800, while the others remained almost the same. However, in 2006, all trends decreased dramatically, with burglary and car theft statistics declining by approximately 700, whereas the number of robbery crimes dropped marginally to about 600.
In 2007, the figures for burglary and robbery accounted for around 1600 and 500, respectively, although car theft rates increased to 2300 and surpass burglary. At the end of the period, the figure for car theft rose to almost 3000, albeit the other trends (Burglary and Robbery) stayed relatively stable (at barely 1500 and 900, respectively).
