Overall, burglary accounted for the highest number of incidents initially but experienced a dramatic decline over the decade. Conversely, robbery remained relatively stable and consistently recorded the lowest numbers, while car theft ultimately surpassed burglary to become the most common crime by 2012.
At the beginning of the period, burglary grew slightly until 2004, reaching its peak of approximately 3750. However, it then experienced the most substantial decline recorded, going down until 2008 and accounting for around 1100 incidents. The figures hovered around this number and recorded about 1350 by the end of the period. Meanwhile, robbery accounted for just above 500 incidents at the beginning, and it went through ups and downs during the period, finishing slightly higher at roughly 700 by 2012.
Car theft was the second most common crime initially, recording around 2800 incidents. It saw a slight drop in 2006 (just above 2000). The figures started growing subsequently, and it returned to its initial level by the end of the period. Ultimately, car theft finished as the most committed crime in 2012, accounting for approximately 2750 incidents.
